Where we get our food from is critical to maintaining good health and the more natural a food source is, the more benefit it will have for our body. While vitamins and supplements can help, they are not nearly as beneficial as food that is fresh and organic. People should learn some healthy food recipes to make every day. Here are some facts about healthy eating that you may find useful:
1. We need water
Of course, everyone knows this, but the amount of water is not known by many people. People living in a normal climate should consume two to three liters of water every day.
2. Breakfast is critical
When you eat breakfast in the morning, your body's metabolism gets fired up to give you enough energy to do all of your daily activities. If you skip breakfast, your body will try to save energy because you are not supplying it with the fuel it needs. This will cause your metabolism to slow down.
3. Portion size is important
If you consume too many carbs, you will gain weight and possibly develop diabetes. Not enough carbs will also cause various physical problems. The key to good health is balancing your diet.
4. Reduce junk food
Many people eat fast food for lunch at work because it is the only food available. Eating one meal of fast food five days a week can have devastating consequences to your health, but an occasional meal of fast food like once a week is fine. The rest of the week, you would be better off using some healthy food recipes and bringing your lunch to work.
There are many healthy food recipes to choose from. Pancakes are a delicious food that many people love. However, pancake mixes you can buy in the store are not very healthy. Here is a healthy alternative:
